In preparation for the Year of Faith, St. Thomas Aquinas
Parish in St. Lawrence, began a project to improve the
interior beauty of the Church. Years before, the stained
glass windows at the back of the Church were painted over
and covered with exterior siding because of persistent
leaks. In an effort to restore some of this beauty, the Parish
replaced the extensive stained glass area with murals of art
by famous painters. The murals depict scenes in the life of
Jesus from the Annunciation until the Pentecost event.
Icons of the four evangelists have also been placed at the
front of the Church. All murals were donated by parishioners
in memory of deceased loved ones. It is hoped that this
project will assist people in their faith as they reflect on the
life of Jesus.
